Just a quick post to test out the Wordpress pinging feature -
I added a number of blog directories and pinging services to send my Wordpress Post Pings. The list is now extensive.
It seems you need to be careful when including meta pinging services such as ping-omatic or ping a goat or whatever 
, because they could ping a service that you had already selected in your list (under writing/settings).
I guess the website on receiving end could detect a succession of redundant pings and mark you as a spammer.
One thing I notice is that my blog was not included in Technorati. In the past if you added them to the list of websites to ping, they would automatically add you.
It seems this is no longer the case and you need to manually submit and claim your blog which is a real pain. Some of the other directories you can ping will auto-submit your blog which is nice.
I’ve also been using a desktop tool to submit my blog to directories automatically, so I hope to get good coverage in the major blog search engines.
Again, just a random post to test out the pining feature.
